Just had my first ever pip assessment by telephone this morning. I got a text two days before letting me know and then I got a letter today informing me but my appointment was 9.15 and letter arrived at 11.50. I have never posted on here so thought I would today. It was OK.... I think not very friendly though.... Business like. Can only wait to see what happens now.

Hi Tootsie3006

Thank you for letting us know. Very troubling to hear that you were informed with only two days notice. They are supposed to give you seven. You should be able to ring up after 48 hours and request a copy of your report - should you want it.

I was awarded 11 points for the care part, think I needed 12 for enhanced rate. The mobility part I got nothing... This bit amazes me as I told the lady I am practically housebound. I only go out for hospital or doctors appointments and when I do I have to get a taxi. I only walk down my garden path and into the cab which is roughly 10 metres . The letter stated I can walk more than 50 and up to 200 metres. I told the lady I can't get to my bins which are 25 metres away. I actually leave my bin bag at my garden gate and. My binmen pick up for me... They have seen me struggle and offered. I buy them 6 cans of pepsi every fornight lol. I wrote to them to weeks ago to get them to look again at my claim, yesterday I called them just to make sure they got my letter. The lady said yes it's here and said you can wait while I register it, I did but wondered if I hadn't called would it be registered?. I just have to wait and see what happens now. I just don't understand why they ask the question how far you can walk and then ignore it and put a different answer.

Hi Tootsie3006

Hopefully, you will hear soon. Re: the distance, I suspect they have assumed that after walking 10 meters to the taxi, they have added something for when you get the other end!
