I have a couple of questions regarding the extension of PIP awards where a reassessment is due. My 6 year award is due for review towards the end of next month (ie it will be 5 years from the award being made, hence the review), and I am aware they are extending some awards by 6 months due to COVID-19.
1) What dates have they currently indicated they will extend awards. By this I mean all awards due within what period (March to June, for example).
2) Does this mean the award itself will be extended, ie my 6 year award would now be 6.5 years, or just that they will review the award 6 months prior to the end date rather than 12 months.
I know that this does not appear to have been applied in all cases, but wanted to know the rule of thumb should I not receive a review form next month.
The DWP were reassessing awards six months before their end just before the current emergency so I would not expect your review to have occurred for another six months anyway, on this basis I can't answer your questions as the current provisions only last until late June.
