Some good news and not so good news. The good news is I got the report back and the assessor recommends standard daily and enhanced mobility for 1 year 6 months. If the DM goes with this would it be 2yrs or 2.5yrs? I ask because I remember someone saying you end up getting and extra year because they start the reassessment a year early.

Now the bad news. My obesity was not mentioned. Said my mood was good despite me saying I was very depressed as my cousin had died the day before. She removed 2 points for managing therapy to zero, despite me going into great length about my exercises and how I need my partner to support me so I can do them. She mentioned this but still removed the points coz I can take my own tablets. Both previous assessments I was assessed as needing help. She said I can manage the exercises because I can go round the house balancing on furniture or a stick. No mention of the pain I suffer doing so.

So much is missing. I did record it.

Should I send in a letter to correct this now? My exercises have increased from specialists and I require help to do them and its over 3.5 hours a week.

All help appreciated, thank you .

There is a small window for you to write to the Decision Maker but you will need to be quick.

Understand that the assessor is offering an opinion when they say that you can do the PIP activities, tackling these head-on is unlikely to be successful, you need to show that the basis of that opinion is founded on incorrect information, so try and refer to your evidence to undermine what they have said.

Also, try and stick to issues that lead to your scoring points, I often hear members referring to the assessors spelling, as an example, whilst it may show a lack of professionalism, raising it as an issue isn't going to help you get an award.

Lastly, make sure that you understand the criteria that you are being assessed against you can put the best case forward that is possible but you won't score points if you do not meet the PIP Descriptors.

Make sure that your letter makes it clear that you are not requesting a Mandatory Reconsideration but you reserve the right to do so once a Decision has been made.

Thank you for that advice. A letter clearly bulletpointing why the assessors assessment of Descriptor 3 is unfair, based upon her reporting and removing all points for assistance managing my dossette box and assistance completing daily physical exercises, is prepared and will go today next day delivery.

It is factual, drawing on my previous assessment and how accurately that was reported on Descriptor 3, and without emotion.

I have telephoned DWP and told them a letter and a further consultants letter is being sent today to arrive tomorrow for inclusion with this review. I have stated in the letter I am not asking for a MR, but to highlight the inconsistencies before a decision is made.

Fingers crossed.

Thought I would give you my news.

PIP was reinstated at the same rate. The DM made no mention of my letter or the extra evidence. It was literally a copy and paste job of the assessors report. I lost the 2 points.

I don't want to risk my award by MR as it is still the same but it's wrong that they just do this. I will address this at the next review.

Anyhow, thank you as usual for your help. It was a successful review :)

Congratulations on the award.

I'm afraid t's likely that your letter crossed with the Decision Letter.
