DLA to PIP was created by Deb
Good morning all I’ve a quick query I hope someone can help.
I’ve been awarded pip after being on dla for years. Which is fantastic.
My last payment of dla was 12th May ( 2 weeks in arrears and 2 weeks in advance)
Now pip is paid 4 weeks in arrears and the letter says they’ll pay me ( an amount that isn’t 4 weeks worth) on the 18th June which is what they owe me from 27th May to 17th June.
So my dla would’ve been due on 9th June but pip isn’t being paid until 18th June, 9 days later, which means I’m going to struggle as that makes it just over 5 weeks since I was paid.
Also I don’t understand why they’re paying me on the 18th June an amount (£280.19) which doesn’t make sense. 3 weeks would be £267.45 and 4 weeks would be £356.60.
I can’t ring them as I can’t speak on the phone and I just wondered if anyone can help with this? Thanks

I've not seen anyone receive DLA with two weeks in arrears and two weeks in advance, three weeks in arrears and one week in advance occasionally but normally four weeks in arrears.

Your DLA should be paid for a further four weeks from when the PIP Decision was made.

It is possible that the first PIP payment will be a part one so that subsequent payments will be on the correct payment day.

Unfortunately, it can be near impossible to work out if the payments are correct until you receive your first full PIP payment then you can look at what you have received between then and your last full DLA payment.

If I can offer a word of comfort, I can't remember the last time that a member reported that they had actually got it wrong.

Thanks Gordon. I’m still not sure where I stand with them?! I can’t understand the DWP leaving me without money ( the 9 days) but it would appear I’m paid up for dla as the letter states it will end on the 27th May.
Anyway I guess it’s wait and see? I’ll check on the 9th see if they pay me anything :)
