PIP for Fibromyalgia was created by JayDee
Hi
Was just wondering if anyone gets PIP for Fibromyalgia?
And if so what rate?
I’m currently getting the standard daily rate but I’m in the process of completing the form as my conditions much worst

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi JayDee
There are a number of members who have fibromyalgia, but often it often co-exists with other conditions - so you may find it difficult to get an accurate picture. Some people do obtain enhanced for both.
My advice is to read through our guide in answering each question. Do not assume that the medical professional reading your form will have any knowledge of the condition. You need to be very clear how debilitating it is, making sure that you answer in line with the set criteria. Any additional medical information is always useful.

Hi JayDee
Ring and ask for an extension if you need it. It should be granted automatically.

Hi JayDee, as BIS says, many people including our daughter have fm along with other conditions.
Just thought it worth mentioning that twice now I have compiled a diary about her by calling her frequently, as she is not well enough to manage to do her own diary. If you have a friend or relative who could do this for you even for a few weeks it would be a good extra bit of evidence. You know, when asked how many days a week can you not wash etc, you or a supporter can count it up in the diary and then it's harder for the assessor to knock you down. It can always be sent in as an addition after the main form has gone in, just be sure every single sheet has your name and NI no on the top and is page numbered. There are diary templates on here.
Best wishes, Denby

Thank you x
Citizens advice have completed my form for me. My doctor, social worker and key worker has also done a letter supporting my claim and suggesting enhance for both as I’m bed bounded and in severe pain.
Do you know what people with this condition gets?
I also had my ESA telephone assessment early may and still waiting should I call to see if a decisions been made?
I’m already on the Support group it was a review
