PIP TRIBUNAL was created by Cforrest
All three members horrible and asked me why am I getting married. How can an ill person want marriage. They ignored my medical letters on Fibromyalgia and Ankylosing Spondylitis .They even made fun of my physio exercises saying how can you do them when so ill.
I would like to warn people about this Birkenhead tribunal panel when mine should have been Chester. They are a disgrace and even with being under rheumatologist and in bed for half the day said I had a little back problem but was putting it all on.
I have just reapplied and start major treatment shortly which will knock out my immune system. They were aware of this impending treatment but said I was exaggerating and it was just little back ache.
I have had ASAP since 1989 but it has gone untreated as diagnosis changed to other rheumatolgical problem.I now have MRI scan showing significant damage to my spine.
I know you like to show success but people should be aware tribunals are no friends of the disabled.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Cforrest
I'm sorry that you had such a dreadful experience. We do like to hear of people's successes but we are acutely aware of all the members who have negative outcomes. I hope that you're next application is more successful.

Hi Cforrest, my personal opinion is that you should complain to the HMCTS that the question about marriage was not relevant to whether you had or had not met the descriptors for the PIP award you were claiming. Have to say the so called disability panel member for our daughter last time kept on about how she 'could cook a piece of fish in the microwave' instead of the ready meals she relies on because her condition means she cannot hold knives and peelers properly and often drops things without warning. She did win anyway but that lady was very out of touch.
Best wishes for your fight,

I include the following for information
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claim...aq/general-faq#Gen90
but based on C's original post a complaint would not be the correct process to follow at least not in the first place, if they are unhappy with the Decision and I am unclear as to whether a Decision has actually been received or not, then they should request a copy of the Statement of Reasons and the Record of Proceedings from the Judge in charge of the hearing.
