PIP REVIEW was created by dove123
Hi
i WONDER IF SOMEONE CAN HELP ME PLEASE.
I received my PIP review form in January this year it was returned back to them which they received it on 10th Feb 2020. I have HEARD NOTHING AT ALL. pip was due to end July.
Today Sat 27th June my husband received a letter from Carers saying that with my pip ending in July, this benefit will stop.
How can they do this? I have had NO letters from PIP due to lock down etc, i have had no assessment or telephone call nothing, i don't even know if my pip has been extended.
I have tried to call them but i have getting up to been on hold for 52 mins then 48 mins then 1hr . I have never had a call connected
I am now panicking
Why have i not even had a letter to tell me what is going on, i know they have all paperwork as i posted it recorded delivery and it was signed for on 10th Feb 2020.
The stress is making me ill to be quite honest

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi dove123
I have seen a few posts on this forum similar to your own and have just answered Sue G with a similar question
The only advice I can offer you, is to try and contact the DWP on Monday morning best time is 10:00am. Last time I contacted DWPI was on hold for 15 minutes which was quite quick. All I can say about contacting DWP is to keep trying, early mornings does seem to be the best time for me.
Good luck.
Gary

Hi Dove123
I was in a similar situation, PIP ending May and not hearing anything. When I called I spoke to a really helpful man who said that my PIP had been extended for 6 months. After I called I then received a letter, so I would say just stay on the phone until they answer, it can be a long time but they are very busy at the moment, it is well worth it for peace of mind.

dove123 as Gary says exactly the same happened to me on Saturday! Hubby took early retirement to look after me and I couldn’t cope if he had to find work again (and let’s face it, he probably wouldn’t find any at the moment!) I have phoned and couple of times and according to my notes the call handler said to call back at the beginning of July just to confirm the exemption date/what was happening. Last time I was on the phone for 55minutes before anyone answered. The time before it was 35 minutes! So I’m charging up my phone tonight and will try at around 10 as Gary recommends. Trying not to panic , let’s hope it’s a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing!!

Hi ,so sorry the stress is making you ill. I quite understand this, it does us even over our daughter's claim. I personally would suggest you try to diarise the ill feelings/symptoms this causes and if possible mention to your doctor. You might not be able to use the info for the PIP claim but you could give it to your MP as evidence of the damage the system itself is doing.
Regards, Denby

Just an update!!
Thank you all for your helpful advice.
Managed to get through this morning and was told 3 month extension then she said 6 month then she said something like you may have until October extension ~ Confused and to cap it all as a few of you i notice have had, yes we too received a letter from Carers saying it will end on 17/07/2020 ~ so my husband has informed them of the situation
PIP adviser advised us to contact Carer's and let them know.
What a total mix up this has been the have had my review form back with them for almost 21 weeks now looks like it is still a long way off getting sorted.
