I was due a face to face medical assessment un February. I have had many and the last I was awarded a continuation of ESA Support. I received a letter today saying I had a telephone consultation. I am worried as usual as to what the outcome will be. I am worried that with covid and an increasing benefits bill will this be a means of removing people from the benefit. I provided a comprehensive paperwork and wonder what can be acheived by a stranger on the phone in 20 minutes. The irony of it all is that I am so unwell at the moment I can hardly get out of bed
You will only add stress to what is already a stressful situation wondering whether it is a way of removing people from the benefits list. There is no point - because even if it was true (and I don't believe it is) no one would ever admit to it.
Whether you will get the outcome you want - no one can predict. We haven't had many people feed back about ESA phone assessments. With the PIP phone assessments - as you would expect - some people had a good experience and some haven't.
