Hi I got a telephone assessment this morning which I have waited 24 weeks on since sencing my form for PIP reassessment. Has anyone had a tel appt and how long did you wait to hear back regarding outcome. Hoping to be put up to the enhanced rate more for mobiility as dont get out now or move around as much as I did even this time last year. Just looking for some rough timescales I know they say 8 weeks but last time before Covid-19 I was well over the 8 weeks.

Thanks
Ellen

Hi Ellen

Hopefully you will get some answers, but I warn you there is little you can glean from them. Some members are getting very quick answers (in a couple of weeks) and some are having to wait 8 weeks or more.

Hello, I just wish to let you know that I have just finished my telephone assessment 20 minutes ago, it lasted 1 hour 08 minutes. Like everyone else, I have waited with a little fear as to how this was going to go. My face to face to be in April sometime but because of covid 19 everything was put on hold. I had put in for a reassessment of PIP because of worsening health conditions. I'm 64 and after working all my life found in 2015 I could no longer work because of bad health and had to stop work. This has been a very big eye opener as I have never needed help before. I wish to thank the team that run this site and it's members in how to go about proving you have a genuine disability and how you have to present it on paper. Going back to the phone assessment, I have like most members read of horrifying story, so was quiet nevus. Overall I was pleasantly surprised how well it went, it was a very pleasant lady. She told me her name and that she was a nurse and that she had quite a bit of medical history from my doctor including a written letter stating the factor of my health along with a number of document from at least 6 consultants as I have a number of health issues. So I will have to wait for the DWP for the final say, which I guess will be 6-8 weeks she said. My final word must go the team here, on this site, thank you so much, the advice and steps you have given us have been invaluable. Thank you for your hard work.
