Hi all,
I have recently been going through the PIP renewal process with my husband and I am wondering what experiences others have of the assessor and Decision maker having different views? My husband had his telephone assessment in December having been on PIP for some time and DLA before that. We received his decision letter this week and found that his PIP has been entirely stopped. We asked for and received the assessors report and found that they had suggested a total of 13 points across the various daily living areas. However the decision maker awarded only 2 points and therefore declined the application! Has anyone else had this type of experience?
Ps. Needless to say we have applied for a MR

Hi Patience.

It is quite unusual for a decision-maker not to follow the assessor's recommendation, particularly with such a marked difference.

I hope that you were able to counter all the points you wanted to make.

Hi Patience, your wretched treatment at the DM's hands just demonstrates the random behaviour of the organisation. Power to your elbow for the contest, and maybe even add on a complaint if you are successful. Because if that DM is doing it to many claimants, most of whom sadly don't have B&W to turn to, it could help many if she/he is disciplined/retrained due to your drawing management's attention to them. Sympathy, Denby
