good afternoon mods , i have been awarded enhanced rate daily living (previously on standard rate) and standard rate mobility (previously no mobility award) will this now entitle me to a enhanced disability premium on my esa benefit (support group income related) i think it is a £24.50p weekly payment.. also if i may ask , my esa was due a review November 2020 (in support group under section 35) but i never received any correspondence is it possible they will look at my pip award favorably when deciding whether to send me a new form or do a paper based review and consider evidence from the pip assessors report which i believe to be favorable to my mental health conditions and limitations. hope you can understand my questions many thanks bb.

Hi british bulldog

Many congratulations on the award and well done.

We cannot answer your question as we do not have enough personal information, I would guess from your post that you do not live alone, you may be eligible to claim Enhanced Disability premium as you receive PIP and the enhanced daily living component, if you did live alone then you may also be entitled to Severe Disability Premium or if your partner also received PIP daily living/DLA middle care then you may receive SDP.

In reply to the second part to your question, it is the DWP we are talking about so it would depend on what supporting documents you send them, they would not look at your previous assessors report as they need to know how your condition affects you now and not then.

Did you ask DWP for a copy of the assessors report which is called a PA4, It is advisable for you to get a copy so you can see how the assessor assessed your claim for next time you renew your claim.

thank you gary, you are correct i live with my wife who is my carer and claims carers allowance to look after me and she is also on pip so we claim for one sdp as she gets the carers allowance, would i need to contact dwp to claim enhanced disability premium or would it be added to my claim automatically, i got the assessors report and copied all paperwork for next time, many thanks bb.

Hi british bulldog

If you wife is in receipt of the daily living component then you should receive couples rate for SDP £133.90 pw, this will be going up in April.

It should be added automatically but I would contact DWP ESA to inform them of your award and at the same time check what premiums they will be paying you and from when.
