Hi IDS
BIS is correct your question is outside the remit of the forum.
The benefit cap is a limit on the total amount of benefit you can get. It applies to most people aged 16 or over who have not reached State Pension age. Checkout the following web site for those who are and who are not affected by the Benefit Cap. www.gov.uk/benefit-cap

Nothing at all to do with people on benefits - it’s to protect the National Lottery from having to pay out more than they expect, should an unusually popular set of numbers be drawn!
From their website:
“Prize capping takes place in very rare circumstances – for example, when popular number combinations are drawn resulting in there being more Winning Set For Life Entries than Camelot is able to pay Prizes for. If Prize capping takes place, the actual Prizes won may be less than stated.”
There’s more information on their website if you search ‘Set For Life prize capping’.
