Capita PIP telephone assessment. Didn't call. was created by Judy
I waited an hour just now for the Capita PIP telephone call and they never called. So I rang DWP to complain. They were not happy and a complaint is going to be made. They spoke to the assessor to see why they failed to call and were told that they'd tried three times to ring me. They also managed to cut the DWP person off, so when she rang me back she was furious and is definitely going to follow this up. Tomorrow I have to ring DWP to see where we go from here and a new appointment time. She was very apologetic but was furious. So my advice to everyone here is this...always ring DWP if your telephone assessment fails to call on the time they say. You have to cover your backside, because if I hadn't my PIP would have been automatically stopped.

Hi Judy
Sorry, this happened to you. Sound advice. Too often assessors claim they have tried to ring someone. I don't know why they do it, because it's actually very easy to prove they are not telling the truth by accessing your own phone records.
Hope you get a new appointment.

They told the DWP that they keep having trouble with their phone lines. But I'm not believing that, as it's happened to so many people. They tried to say I had them on block on my phone, but I don't have that facility on my phone either.

Well the saga continues. I called up Capita to see what was going to happen and they said that I have to call DWP about getting PIP to do a referral back to Capita. What a farce
So I sat on the phone to PIP for forty minutes, slowly losing the will to live because I am ill also, I got through finally only to be one sentence in and promptly got cut off! I am too ill to sit and wait
to get through so I have sent off a letter! I am now asking for a paper based review because my child is now in bits with anxiety and her mental health

Hi Judy
You don't seem to be having much luck
, you may want to get the help of your MP to help push things along if you are having no joy.
We did have a member on the forum recently who informed that if you phone DWP first thing in the morning, 9.00 am the waiting time is reduced. You could try before 9:00 am just to see if anyone answers.
If you have speaker phone on your phone use that whilst you carry out other activities whilst waiting for the phone to be answered.

Judy, I hope it gets sorted for you, I'm well adverse when it comes to Capita.
This seems to happen to a good few claimants? This is why I never provide a phone number to the DWP?
I always have everything from the DWP or assessment providers in writing for these very reasons, I certainly do not trust these assessment providers, or the DWP, they are well know for saying they've phoned claimants when they clearly haven't?
I decided long ago, I never will supply a number especially I've you can't cope with strangers or being on a hone for long periods, let alone do an assessment over the phone.
