It’s almost 2 and a half years since I submitted my original PIP application. I was only awarded one of the components, so asked for a mandatory reconsideration, then appealed and now I have a date for my appeal tribunal hearing in approx 6 weeks.
I have been informed by letter (not asked) that it will take place by telephone. I can’t help but feel that this will negatively affect my chances of success. I know in person hearings can be very stressful, but I feel I would be able to present my case better this way.
Are there any statistics which compare the success rate of telephone hearings vs in person? Also, do I have no choice but to do this by telephone? The letter I received contained no mention of an alternative.
