Hello Ryan,
Yes there is a difference, the new claim form assumes that there is no information about you on file, so you have to put in everything they might need. The renewal form basically asks you about what has changed.
The advise in our PIP guide applies to both forms, although there is a specific section starting at page 113 for renewals.

If you have any more specific questions, please do ask.

Hi Ryan
A review does not mean that you will have a paper based review (PBR), for a PBR you need to show that you suffer from 'overwhelming Psychological Distress' ideally a letter from your doctor.
At present most assessments will still be by phone.

Hi Ryan,
When the DWP receive your review submission they will consider it. If they believe they can do a paper assessment they will, if not you will be asked to attend a face to face or telephone assessment, depending on what is happening at that point. As Gary mentioned, if you can produce a letter from your GP saying that a face to face or telephone assessment will cause you 'overwhelming psychological distress' you significantly increase your chances of being giving a paper assessment.
I hope that makes sense!
