Pip review form(1043) was created by ajd69
Hi everyone. Well on Friday I received my dreaded Pip review form. I'm wondering if this is partly because I was helping my friend who I live with with his claim for Pip and had sent in a supporting letter mentioning how I sometimes have to help him when my condition allows me too. My condition has worsened slightly since my last f2f as I now have underactive thyroid which adds to my aches and pains and fatigue. I also have a copy of my HP's report from 2019 for ESA which was quite favourable towards me, would it be a good idea to send a copy of this to them.

Hi Aileen

Yes, you can include your ESA report, but don't just put it in, without referring to the relevant points on your form. Although there is some overlap between PIP and ESA the criteria does vary and they look for different outcomes. Look at - UC/ESA and PIP overlap www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip

Hi Aileen, NB your name appears to be your full name, it is recommended to change this.
Just about the thyroid, be aware that one in eight hypothyroid people have a [D102] genetic oddity which impairs your body's ability to turn the standard levothyroxine medication "T4" into the essential T3 [liothyronine] in the body. So if you are not feeling a lot better on the standard meds, worth trying to politely badger your endocrinologist to prescribe T3. If this applies and they object [£££], there is a private saliva test to identify if you are one of the one in eight. Thyroid UK charity is extremely helpful.
best wishes, Denby

Ty Denby, I'm a member of a forum on hypothyroidism, I've yet to see an endochrinologist as only recently been diagnosed (October 2020) but will badger my GP about levels when I can get a chance to speak to him over the phone.
