Hi JoJo. I would apply for Ill Health Retirement. If you have been there for so long you should be entitled to a pension. Depending on your employer and the pension scheme, this can be Enhanced due to you ‘having’ to leave work early because of ill health. Dig out your pension scheme info and look on their website. If you have a Union rep ask them to help; they will also know the procedure. Read up on things and then ask for an appointment with HR. They will contact an Occupational Health person who you have a chat with. Start gathering all your Medical evidence together/ GP notes/ hospital stuff/ medications / any PIP or DLA stuff to take with you. It’s quite painless, just a bit emotional.
