Hi, I am currently on ESA support group and PIP and will reach state pension age in a few months. I have had a letter from ESA stating that my allowance will change from £198.60 a week to £114.10 a week when I reach 66. I expect to receive the full state pension of £179.60 as I have over 40 years contributions. I believe that I will continue to get PIP as I have recently had a review and got a 10 year review date. I did think that my ESA would end when I reached 66 but now I am confused! Could anyone please enlighten me? Thank you

Hi Carole

You are correct, you will continue to receive PIP when you reach SP age.

When you reach state pension age, your ESA will stop along with any disability premiums.

Depending on your circumstances you maybe able to claim Pension Credits if you received the severe disability premium with your ESA claim. www.gov.uk/pension-credit
