latest newsletter re:engaging face2face was created by Topiawitch
Hi everyone. i have just read the latest newsletter and wonder how many others are in the same position as myself. my score on my last assessment was 0 for 'mixing with other people, you can engage with other people unaided'. i am deaf and wear 2 hearing aids and i showed that i was wearing them at the time of my assessment. the assessor had a habit of turning her head away from me when she spoke and i was constantly asking her to repeat her words, which she didn't seem to like so surly she would or rather SHOULD of marked me down as not being able to engage unaided. tell me, how can i engage with others unaided when i NEED aids to hear people. ok i admit i scored a total of 16 points for daily living, so any points on that section wouldn't change the amount i receive (or would it?) but surly this would affect me now that it is being said that we have been underpaid. any replies will be gratefully received and, in advance , i thank you for your time.

Hi Topiawitch

you already receive the enhanced daily living component of PIP so getting more points would not make any difference to you daily living component.

I am slightly lost when you say that you have been underpaid, unless you believe that you should have been awarded a mobility component.
