All letters now from the DWP, have been for a good while now. Easyiest way to tell is on the back with the Belfast and the P.O. Box number on them.

I was formely known as (GoingOffMyHeadWithThisGovernment) Won PIP November 2017 ongoing award HR both. Now kept and got my ESA Support group but took a while.

The DWP started sending out computer / system generated letters in white envelopes about a year ago. Apparently it is a change that has been forced on the DWP by Royal Mail and is linked to the way RM sorts bulk post. A tweet by the DWP from last April stated:

From 5 April some DWP system-generated customer notifications will be sent in white rather than manila (brown) envelopes. This requirement is driven by a change in the way Royal Mail sorts bulk post. The new system requires a legible barcode to be printed onto the envelope. Testing has shown printing onto our manila envelopes regularly fails.
