Were ESA renewals delayed ? was created by Benson

My 3 year ESA support group award was up in March, and normally every 3 years almost on the dot I have to fill in yet another ESA form and then sometimes I am called for a medical and other times I get through without a F2F. Oddly the dreaded forms haven't yet come through the letterbox, although I have probably jinxed it now. As everyone knows around this time we are on edge waiting for it to come every morning with the hope it doesn't. Were these delayed due to COVID or is it all back to normal now ? Thanks.

Hi Benson

There is a backlog at the DWP so renewals are being delayed, DWP are concentrating on new claims.

Remember ESA is an indefinite award with scheduled reassessment based on the Prognosis Date completed by the assessor in their report, so your existing ESA award continues in payment until a new Decision is made.
