Son is 16 gets dla,I'm the appointee ,recieved letter to confirm I'm still going to be appointee and completed then receive a letter asking if he wants to claim pip and must phone in by a deadline.so we do. Payment hasn't been made and a lady phones saying there's a contradiction. I phone up to sort out but they now say a visiting officer has to come and fill the appointee form until payment starts.this is standard practice.is it?

Hi Bones77

Yes it is standard practice but not common, during Covid DWP stopped Visiting Officers from going out but DWP are now starting them again.

I have always had a positive result when a visiting officer has been out to see a claimant as they are usually experienced officers.
