Hi Bud

If you don't pay it the Council will send you a Court Summons and then get a Liability Order which means they can send round a bailiff.

Right so we have to pay it. The direct debit’s set up already, & it’s not a lot. I’m just glad to be paying something. I was suspicious of them telling us that everyone has to pay now. I’m wondering if they’ll come for rent payments next.

well i know
but don’t have it what can i do
nightmare my neighbour has contacted the local councillor

this came as a shock
i never filled in a form
how they know what benefits i am on
???

Hi Actonjon

The DWP have given them some access to the Benefits IT called CIS Seachlight. A lot of Councils have outsourced their Council Tax and Housing Benefit administration to private companies such as Capita who have other contracts with the DWP.
