Hello,

I am looking for any Regulation of the Universal Credit or Guide for Decision Makers in relation to below. Help is appreciated.

www.theguardian.com/society/2025/jan/26/...uests-ruled-unlawful

www.theguardian.com/society/2025/feb/25/...rds-tenants-benefits

I see that they are scrapping it, but is that immediately or the system is still going until end of 2025 for current deduction cases? Is Labour’s fair repayment rate - how is it going to work and is there a right to appeal?

Hi Rabbit55

I'm sorry, but your question is outside the remit of this forum. I did go to the gov.uk website and see if I could find relevant information, but I couldn't find anything. That doesn't mean it isn't there - it just wasn't obvious to me.

In the judgements the Judge usually mentions the regulations used to make the judgements. They are linked in article.
hope it helps

I doubled checked, and they haven't scrapped it like they said on the media. The webpage where the landlord can apply for deduction is still live.

directpayment.universal-credit.service.gov.uk/

The only difference is they will “consult” you before the deductions.

Hi Rabbit55

This is an interesting subject and can put a tenant at risk from an aggressive landlord.
