housing benefit warning and sharing story, empathy for those in this nightmare. was created by rachel49
I was told that even though i have not started to fill in the dreaded claim as I am still trying to find papers needed and will have problems as I have no passport or drivers licence as I don't drive or have a car. I have until July to transition from Esa support group and housing benefit. I was told by the man on the revenue when I rang that my housing benefit will be stopped on May 5th and I explained that I have not even started the form yet but he insisted that it would be stopped. Sheer terror and rang Peabody who told me that she has never heard of this before and meant to be a roll out where I get 2 weeks housing benefit after my claim is completed and then it stops for 3 weeks until I get the UC so more nightmare as no housing benefit for 3 weeks and no esa either. I rang the same place again and was told that no my housing benefit would remain until I complete the UC form so relief though still struggling with this nightmare process as have to go to prove my id and no one to go with me as isolated and anxious with severe depression, anxiety and ptsd and other health issues. My partner abused me and took advantage of my ill health to trigger me into a state of terror and trauma. Was arrested by police when he became violent and no one came to help me and left alone for months struggling to do even the washing up and not able to cope with daily tasks. Still a wreck and alone and now this nightmare form and alone with it and nowhere to turn. Saw video saying that housing benefit will be stopped in May and so now confused and scared again. I have heard nightmare stories and this is causing me to feel ill with worry and stres s. His words to me were "if you dont claim by May then you will have nothing" which terrified me and in shock rang again and told he was wrong by different person in same place. Then saw video and so now confused again. What I hate is the inhuman 3 week delay in stopping the esa and housing benefit and then getting it 5 weeks later and having to wait and maybe it getting late as so many now claiming and system a mess and this leaving me in dread of how do I get through this nightmare and go to the jobcentre to prove my id when I am too anxious to leave my flat and have no one to take me and dread the thought of it. To stop people from getting support for 3 weeks is against human rights and inhuman to me and terrifying. Why can they can not just stop the money after the 5 week change makes no sense unless it is just sadistic which it seems o be as the stress and fear this is causing is inhuman and deeply cruel. Has anyone experienced this housing benefit stopping in May as I wanted to share this and for those who have not yet claimed let them know. I was told he was wrong but the video said he was right and tried to look online but found no evidence so far so am confused again. I sympathise with everyone going thought this attack as it feels the worst persecution so far actually stopping people from having any money for 3 weeks at all and offering them a loan why not just pay them! I wanted to warn those on housing benefit to be aware of what this man told me and the video and sorry for scaring anyone but just to make sure that this is not the case. I will try and check again as it seems one hand does not know what the other is doing again with this mess and I don't trust them not to do things on the sly and am cynical of this govt and the dirty tricks it pulls. Sorry for the long post. I know for many reading long messages can feel like overwhelm and I understand that as have brain fog too due to ptsd but wanted to share the news just in case they try something like this and I had to fight and he told me I would be getting a letter telling me this and woman I spoke to later said no and that this was wrong. So just sharing the news I heard and cannot see them getting away with this one as affects so many but knowing in case any thing does come of this is something to fight against and share and so that they do not get away with more crimes in the dark. Thank you for reading this to the end. if you have congrats and please from one panicking try not to panic which is ironic as last thing i wanted. But felt I should share what I have been told and heard as a warning hoping that there is nothing in this.
