I began the migration from esa support group to uc but have now been contacted via the journal to say i have to have a telephone appointment for New Style ESA. I live alone, have a mortgage to pay and am so worried that i will not get the same amount as i did on ESA or the DWP will mess up the application and I will have to fight to get the correct amount of benefit . Will i have to do another application form for the new style ESA or will the DWP calculate it automatically. Can anyone tell me what I can expect to happen please? Thank you x
You will not have to make a new ESA claim. It is just a 10 minute phone call to accept the New Style ESA claimant commitment. As you have a mortgage I would ask the Citizens Advice Help to Claim service for assistance. Their phone number is on page 2 of your Managed Migration letter.
