questions uc form (esa to uc) was created by survive
Hello,
I'm unsure how to answer the question "Have you applied for a reduction in your Council Tax?" (Options are: Yes/No but I will apply/ No I dont want to apply). I've been getting CTR for years but I never applied for it, the council did it automatically when I applied for HB years ago. Does the form refer to CTR once i get UC? (In which case I answer "No but i will apply". )
Should I phone UC helpline and inform of complex needs as I have been feeling suicidal with this extreme terror about UC. Or wait and write in journal? Is there anywhere to write it on initial application?
Thank you.

Hi survive
I'm sorry I can't tell you. If you are up to it I would ring the UC helpline and ask them.

I've just claimed UC on managed migration and answered this question "Yes" as, like yourself, I'm already in receipt of Council Tax Support. UC should notify your local council when your UC claim is paid. If you're worried about it, you could phone your local council and inform the benefits section that you've just made a claim to UC.

Hi Survive
The application for HB and CTB used to be on the same form, at the end of the HB form it use to state do you want to apply for CTB.
Now when you apply for UC you have to make a separate application for CTS, if you are already in receipt of CTS when you apply for UC, I would still inform your local authority that you have applied for UC.
If you receive LCWRA element in your UC it will affect your CTS, it happened to a client of mine , we got them LCWRA element which reduced their CTS.
