Just Migrated was created by dpeplow
I have just Migrated from IR Esa support group to UC and this morning I have just received a letter from the Job Centre advising a Work Coach Appointment has been arranged for 10th June 2025 at 10am, it advises this interview I will need to agree and accept my claimant commitments. The claimant commitment is my record of the actions that I need to take to continue getting New Style ESA. It will not include any work-related activities. Once I have accepted my claimants commitment a work coach can offer help and support if you would like to take part in work-related activities. Should I be getting this, unsure why it cannot be done on through my UC online.

Hi dplplow
As you are in the Support Group you cannot be forced to attend the Jobcentre if you have limited mobility. Instead they should offer you a phone appointment to accept your Claimant Commitment.
You could send the Work Coach a UC Journal message saying that as you are in the Support Group you fall within the UC Enhanced Support Journey and if you are not given reasonable adjustments you will complain to the Area District Manager.
Let me know how you get on.

It is a telephone appointment but advises its a 30 minute call, I think there is something else behind this call as surely its not going to take 30 minutes to do my claimant commitment, could this commitment agreement be done online?

Hi dpeplow
Other Forum members have reported this phone call as lasting only 10 minutes.

Hi Phil
Welcome to the forum.
You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum.
There would be a work around for a deaf person such as face to face with a work coach and someone who can sign.
