New style ESA query was created by Fulci Lives!
I currently get Income related ESA (joint claim with my partner)
I’m in the support group and have been since around 2012 when I became too ill to work.
My partner is my full time carer but hasn’t ever claimed Carer’s Allowance.

I’ve received my migration letter and plan to start the process soon.

I keep hearing about people in the same boat as me ending up on a combination of ‘New Style ESA’ as well as UC.. DESPITE never being on Contribution-Based ESA!

Apparently some people are actually getting a combination of CB ESA and IR ESA without even knowing it!

My question is:
Is there anyway of checking if I’ve been getting Contribution based ESA alongside my Income Related ESA before I start the migration?

It’s the uncertainties that are causing me most stress.

Hopefully that makes sense
Thanks in advance.

Hi Fulci Lives

Do you get the £10 Xmas bonus?
Also do the DWP send you a P60 in a brown envelope?

I forgot to mention, I’m on PIP as well. Both higher rates.

So that means you have been receiving Contributions Based ESA and now it is going to be converted automatically to New Style ESA.

So does that mean I’ll end up on a combination of Universal Credit AND New Style ESA?
And will that mean more hassle/complications for me and my partner?
Really stressing out at the moment. My heart condition is already exacerbated by all this.
I thought migration would be a lot simpler.
