PIP Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) - How likely am to loose points ? was created by big_vern
I have my PA4 back and txt from dwp to say I have been awared PIP, not offical letter yet.
I am guessing the official letter will confirm the PA4 points. ?
I got 4 points for daily living ( 9c)
I got 10 pints for mobility, planning and following journeys (11e)
So I get standard rate mobility.
On the online application I stated no issues for mobility (either 11 or 12) but I've obviously been awarded it (MOD overwhelming psychological distress on pa4) and not what I had claimed for.
I think I should have at least 10 points for daily living - but am bothered about losing points, how likely is this ? if someone reviews it, especially since I did not originally claimed for mobility component (all the evidence fits it but I didn't really understand the descriptor)
also in general terms are there any stats for MR and people losing the award or points ?
Thanks

Hi big_vern
Only 27% of Mandatory Reconsiderations are successful. Those that aren't just tend to stay at what has been awarded already. Although there is a risk that they could lower your award after you put in an MR - I have only every known this happen to two people and they were very unusual cases. I can't find any stats to give you on whether people lose points at an MR stage and we don't hear of it on the forum.
We can't advise you what to do, but at only 27% success rate, you probably have nothing to lose by giving it a go, if you want to.
