Hi all,

I am really pleased to be part of this amazing community finally.

So, briefly as possible. I had non fault car accident 02/23. I sustained permanent, severe and incurable hearing injuries. (Compensation claim through car insurance in hand)

. 09.23 made 1st PIP claim. Outright rejection.
. 02.25 first tribunal he's adjourned. I took advice from judge and put in 2nd claim that day. ( she couldn't take into account effects of recently prescribed drugs. )

. 05.25. Tribunal Hearing 30 mins, no DWP rep. Awarded both Enhanced rates, closed award for 17 months. (Disbelief then overjoyed) Got payment, nearly £14,000.

. 06/25. Claim 2 assessment. 5 days earlier I recorded a DWP conversation where I sought confirmation that the HP assessor could see and relate to my written statement of reasons and decision notice. Asked in 3 different ways, was assured yes indeed she could.

. 06/25 Telephone Assessment. Professional and thorough assessor. I did not discuss the closed tribunal award from last month, didn't want to appear boastful but wrote a final statement to read to her. She made no reference to the court decision. I read statement including several key quotes from judge's comments. Assessor listened respectfully.

. At the end, Assessor dumbstruck if not shocked. Asked why on earth did they send you for another reassessment have been awarded at Tribunal only last month.

. Conversation ended without much further ado. 1.75 hours, I was exhausted.

I know I created a closed claim, I made a big error taking advice from a previous judge. Never accept blindly through reverence to authority! Always satisfy yourself with personal research.

. Today, I spoke with DWP ordered my PA4. The agent told me I was misinformed about the Assessor being aware of court documents. I said it was an important issue that needed rectifying and if I felt it negatively impacted the decision on my claim, I would pursue this.

So, if anyone has any comments to help me move forward or reflections on what has occurred, I would be very grateful to you all.

Many thanks Fy7
