Were ESA support group (old) paid in arrears? was created by Fredo
Hi All
Could someone please confirm for me if the payments we received on old style ESA, were paid in arrears ?
The reason I'm asking is because I've just received my 1st statement after migrating to UC.
I made my claim on 27th of May. (June 3rd was my cut off date for claiming). after which I received 2 final payments of my old style ESA last being 17th June, which my advisor said I would receive.
Now on my statement with Rent, LCWRA and Protection it comes to £1472.55 which is a slight improvement on my old style, but then it goes on to say Deductions,
As you received benefits you weren't entitled to, ESA -£118.98 ?
As this is an average of other benefits that your continuing to claim ESA -£609.05 ?
Payment to landlord which I asked for -£412.39 so was expecting this.
Total payment this month £332.13
If our payments are paid in arrears why are we all losing money as my loss is £646.13 for july ?
Surely if we are paid in arrears for both then we shouldn't be losing money or am I missing something ?
Regards
Fred

Hi Fredo
Did you previously get sent a P60U by the DWP in a brown envelope? Do you get PIP?
Did you receive the £10 Xmas bonus?

Hi Fredo
The P60U therefore indicates you were in receipt of Contributions Based ESA. This will be come New Style ESA with Managed Migration and will be paid fortnightly. It is paid in arrears and is deducted £ to £ from UC.
