Hi My daughter who is severely disabled is due to go into supported living very soon (we are waiting for the care package to be finalised) and receives ESA. We’ve had our letter about moving over onto Universal Credit which is due to happen in September once we have made the application. I spoke to a lady at citizens advice who told me that if my daughter had been living in independent living now (before the move to Universal Credit) that she would’ve been eligible to claim the severe disability premium. She told me that Universal Credit would have honoured this when they she makes a transition over to Universal Credit. It’s quite a lot more money per week and this would have been beneficial to her, and it seems a shame to miss this for the sake of a few weeks. Can anyone offer any advice ? Thanks in advance
