Hi My son has very recently been diagnosed with ADHD. He has started taking the medication for this. He is already receiving high rate PIP on both Care and Mobility. Should we inform the DWP now about this or wait until the review? Also do we need a letter from the NHS provider confirming his diagnosis so we can forward this on to the DWP? Thank you.
The DWP do tell people to inform them of any change in their health, but in reality, they are most interested when people are getting better. It's up to you whether you choose to tell them now or wait until the next review. As he's on enhanced rate for both parts already, there's no rush to tell them. You can keep a copy of any letters confirming his diagnosis and submit them next time.
