UC confusion was created by Susie27
Hello

Last month I transferred from ESA to UC.
When I saw my 1st statement I thought that UC had deducted approx £46 more than they should have done (knowing UC deduct £ for £ from my fortnightly ESA payments of £281.10 a fortnight). I posted a query re a possible underpayment on the 17th June - under the "payments" tab. Quickly realising that the error was mine, I posted again on the same day of the 17th June, asking them to disregard my 1st message by stating that I had simply got my sums wrong and UC were correct in the 1st place.

I heard nothing. Then, 2 weeks later, I received the following from my local job centre :

"Any changes of circumstances must be reported to both Universal Credit, via your account, and to ESA by calling 0800 169 0310"

I was obviously not reporting a change of circumstances. Should I post a reply stating that I was not reporting a change, or just leave it?

I'm worried that the local job centre have made this post out of the blue, on a subject I wasn't enquiring about. I'm worried that I have been misinterpreted by the local job centre, even though I never heard back from "payments" after the 17th. I'm worried that either my query on the 17th will lead to a new WCA even though there is no change being reported.

Gah, I get myself in such a state!

Thank you,

Susie

Hi Susie27

I would ignore the message but keep an eye on your "to do list" and your next UC breakdown for any missed elements.
