Just missed 2 calls from DWP which I think were regarding new style ESA . . I have been recently migrated from Support group ESA, & Housing Benefit to UC. This has sent my Anxiety levels Sky Rocketing. I did receive a letter a month ago explaining that an appointment would be sent to me, either by phone or face to face. I tried to call back 3 times, an automated voice informed me that they would contact me again if needed. Why on earth can't the powers that be send an actual appointment time/date in the first place ?
Scared beyond measure . . Yet again.
Probably panicking for nothing . . I hope.
Any advice, theories would be much appreciated . . . .
I'm sorry this is stressing you out, but this is common practice with the DWP and they will try to phone again. I'm not sure how many times they phone - before they put a letter in the post, but I was told yesterday that it was 'quite a lot'. From their point of view - it's easier and more efficient to fix a mutually agreeable time than it is to send a letter that someone might not open or be able to make the appointment. Not easy for people who are scared by missed calls.
