Managed migration to UC was created by speo77
I'm not good with all this, brain fog etc. !!
I asked a question on why I had been given another ESA payment while I am in the assessment phase for UC, I was under the impression that everything would stop until my first UC payment end of July .....the response in my journal was this :
"When you previously claimed ESA, you received an award of ESA Income-Based (IB) and ESA Contribution-Based (CB). Your ESA IB entitlement will end and UC will take over this part of your ESA.
The ESA CB will remain in payment and continue to be deducted from your UC award. the deduction is the amount of days you were entitled to ESA during the assessment period, not the actual payment received."
I don't really understand what all that means. !!! I was always under the impression I was on contribution based ESA not a mix of both .
Does this mean I will still receive an ESA payment every 2 weeks, and then my UC paid every 4 weeks, less the ESA payment I've already received ?
This was a managed migration and I am in the support group of ESA.
Thankyou for any input

Hi speo77
We're not able to confirm whether you have been on both, but your understanding of what it says is correct. As for when you will be paid; only the DWP can confirm that. I know that UC is supposed to be paid every 4 weeks but I know of two people originally in the support group who have been informed they will continue to be paid every two weeks and this has happened.
Sorry, I can't give you any absolute confirmation. If you still have concerns you will have to ask through your journal or ring the UC helpline. 0800 328 5644
