Advance Payments UC was created by tillyboo
I've had a quick look at my journal, just to get used to it.
I've gone to payments & its given dates in August when I will know amount & date of when I will be paid.
I looked at something called Advanced Payments ( which was mentioned in a journal message to me) and its saying I can have an advance of £2082.13.
How do they calculate that figure, whats it based on?

Hi Tillyboo,
You can usually request an advance that is up to the amount of your full first UC payment. But it is repayable in instalments from your UC over a period of 24 months. See www.gov.uk/guidance/universal-credit-adv...how-much-you-can-get
Best wishes

Thanks for reply. The amount on the advance ( which I havent taken yet) doesnt match the amount I am recieving with ESA & premiums/HB
The advancement is £2082.13 ( which I presume includes rent)
But there a descrepancy of £94.39.
My monthly amount with ESA premiums, HB ETC is £2176.52.
Is UC calculated a different way to ESA? IE ESA every 2 weeks & housing benefit every 4 weeks.
Is it done by a yearly amount then divided by month?
Honestly this migration as given me so much worry, I've been awake since 3am trying to work out & try to make the figures match.
ESA/HB £2176.52
UC advance (advised based on first months UC payment)
£2082.13 difference £94.39 less.
Or am I totally misunderstanding the advance thing? As I havent had any breakdown of payment yet nor actual payment.
I'm stressing so badly i5s keeping me awake. I knew where I was with ESA etc & when to pay things rent etc although I keep being told my ESA amount change, I still dont trust it & I cant switch off with the worry of it.
Sorry for the lengthy message

Hi tillyboo
Did the UC agent mention that you are only eligible for this Advance during your first UC Assessment Period?

Hi David.
All it said was I had up until the 2nd August to apply for advance. So on account of not knowing whats going on & how much I'll get etc I've taken the advance. If needs be I can always repay it if I dont use it.
But then this morning I had an email from housing benefits/council tax to say my housing benefit claim closed on the 17th July due to migration & I would get a 2 week run on if rent, but I checked this morn & my full rent as gone in as normal. So is that 2 week run on start from today 28th July?
Also council tax want me to send a copy of my UC statement to calculate my C/Tax reduction. I dont even know what that is?
I was told in my journal I didnt need to inform anyone about rent, ctax etc as its all done by the case worker calculating my UC claim. I am so stressed & confused with this now my hair is falling out & my colitis is flaring up so badly I have had to contact my GP.
And on top of all that my PIP review as come up & as advised by someone on here, to ring & ask for a copy of my previous review to be sent out. I know I have scanned it on my PC but I am so confused at present, I cant find it. The I spoke to said my PIP review was posted on the 19th July & I still dont have it, todays 28th July & its expected back by 19th August. Impossible, I need my support worker to help me & also the copy of previous review will take 5/10 working days to arrive.
My GP is aware of everything I am going & said to email her everything I need as supporting evidence for the review, as she can see how my health is deteriorating due to all the stress & also my health conds. I have been on full PIP for 8 years given in 4 year awards.
Its just too much for me to cope with & I'm really struggling.
Thank you for previous advice

Hi tillyboo
I should imagine that extra Housing Benefit payment is your 2 week run on.
Council tax at present is a topical issue with lots of people complaining that Councils are taking UC Managed Migration as an opportunity to hike the Council Tax on Benefits claimants particularly those with LCWRA.
In this respect every Council is different with its own Council Tax Reduction scheme for which you need to apply after claiming UC. Is this something that your Support Worker can sort out ?
