Attendance Allowance Claim Sucess was created by Salb125
Just wanted to say yet again a really big thank you to the B & W team. I recently help my mum make a claim for attendance allowance. Using your guides and tips from the forum it made the experience far less painful. She has severe osteoarthritis and other health conditions. She didn’t want to claim as she saw it as a part of getting old and having to get on with it. Your guides and helpful hints made it clear to her on how to complete the claim form. Also, she began to see that she should be entitled given the level of care she was needing and getting from myself daily. She was awarded the higher rate and I can’t thank you enough as she can now afford to buy a wheelchair and won’t be housebound anymore. :)

Hi Salb125

Thank you for letting us know, I frequently come across AA claimants who think they are not entitled to claim, don't forget now your mum has been awarded AA she may be eligible to claim pension credit if her weekly income (state pension and any private /occupational pension) is less than £310 a week.

Remember pension credit is a qualifying benefit for winter fuel allowance, free TV licence if aged over 75 and NHS dental charges.

Congratulations on getting your mum AA, you can breathe a sigh of relief, it should take some weight of your mums shoulders.

I will let the back office know as they like a positive story to read.
