Firstly I want to thank everyone who is helping to answer the problems we meet, I can't say how grateful I am for this.
I am the appointee for my son who is aged 41 and started his claims 25 years ago with DLA. He is currently receiving ESA and in the support group and also receives PIP, higher rate personal and lower rate mobility.
When he was a child my sister gifted him with some shares which she wanted him to keep until they would help him in adult life.
The shares have increased in value over the years and now his holding is worth (by yesterday's newspaper) to have a total value of almost 8K.
I looked this morning and the price is going up further so I am unsure how I should state the value.
Your question is outside the remit of the forum, you need to seek specialist advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation: advicelocal.uk where they can take all your circumstances into consideration when giving you advice.
