Successful renewal with paper assessment was created by SHEF29
Just been through my first renewal and am pleased to say my claim has continued at the same rate for the next four years. I feel this is fair.
I put the time and effort in and kept myself updated on this site( kept membership going too) and the decision was made by a paper review. This obviously cut out a lot of stress. The review took approximately 20 weeks from submitting the paperwork and has been completed before my last claim was due to end in December.
By being organised and collected evidence early I have had a relatively stress free renewal.
My message is to take your time when completing the form,do it in stages and put the effort in to collecting the evidence needed as you come towards renewal..also keep supporting this good site even when you no longer are in need as the small amount helps it to keep going for every one!

Hi SHEF29,
Well done on your successful renewal.
I agree totally with your advice to take time over a renewal. Start gathering evidence around the time the renewal is due, and then it will all be ready when you need it. This is much less stressful than doing it all in a rushed panic.
I'm glad that you found B&W useful. It is always good to know that we have been helpful. Thanks for sharing your story and helpful hints which I'm sure others will find useful.

Was this for PIP? I've never not had to have a medical and my condition is uncurable and gets worse with age.
Also, I don't know what evidence they expect us to keep getting. When we have a life long condition we're not always going for scans constantly and we tend not to keep going to the doctors.
What kind of evidence do you mean please?

Hi Ianeif2
It does not have to be medical evidence, if you receive help from someone they could write a statement stating what support they give and why, the why part is the important part of the statement.
I was at a telephone tribunal last week, I contacted the claimant a day before, they were not feeling very well, I asked if they could write an impact statement on how their condition affects them on a daily basis which I could read to the panel if the claimant was not able to carry on..
Hope that gives you a few ideas, remember never use grey words when describing your condition such as "sometimes, maybe, about, approximately " yes I can or no I can not.
