Equality Questionnaire in UC To Do was created by Soff
Hi,
My question is regarding the Equality Questionnaire that is in my UC To Do section.
I haven't been able to find much information about it, some sources stating it's randomised who receives it and is optional to fill in and will disappear after 40 days if you ignore it.
But then I read in a post here, that the claimant was threatened with closure if they didn't fill it in.
Others have expressed concern that since it is attached to your account, it won't be anonymous and could indeed affect your claim.
This has got me worried about possible discrimination and affect to my claim.
It's pretty standard questions about ethnicity, religion, sexuality, married status, then a bit more formal about disability. You're given the definition and then asked: "Do you meet the definition of disability under the Equality Act 2010 (GB) or the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (Northern Ireland)? "
And if you click "yes", the next question asks you:
"Do you have any health conditions or illnesses which affect you in any of the following areas? Select one that affects you the most"
Vision (ex. blindness, partial sight), Hearing (ex. deafness, partial hearing), Mobility (ex. walking short distances, climbing stairs), Dexterity (ex. lifting and carrying objects, using keyboard), Learning/understanding/concentrating, Memory, Mental health, Stamina/breathing/fatigue, Social/behavioural (ex autism, ADHD, Asperger syndrome), Other, Prefer not to say
This is as far as I've gotten as I don't know the implications of choosing one difficulty area over another. Multiple apply to me. (I was in ESA support group and I get PIP enhanced rate living, standard rate mobility). Or choosing "prefer not to say".
I don't know what the best course of action is? Is this really optional?
At first, I thought it would be best to not fill it in at all, but now I'm worried even that would affect my claim. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but anyone's experience or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! 🙏

Hi Soff
You say that ....But then I read in a post here, that the claimant was threatened with closure if they didn't fill it in.... this is very unfortunate and we should investigate. Have you got any pointers to who posted the remark?
