Hi, I have a client who has been on ESA and in receipt of Industrial Injuries benefit. However, she ahs migrated and her IIB has been deducted for her UC amount. It has not been protected by TP ie no worse off after migration. Does anyone know if thie should be protected or not? Thank you

  			 				Hi fiona

Industrial injuries benefit is taken fully into account as income when calculating universal credit.

Hi, this happened to me. However the transitional payment should make up any difference between the legacy amount on ESA.
I had a nightmare with this. The IIB should be added first then deducted as normal. If there is a shorfall it should be covered by TP.
Good luck.

  			 				Hi

The following is from the Housing Systems Transitional Protection guide :-
^WARNING: This is still a manual process for Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (i.e., someone needs to
look at another screen to check if IIDB is in payment and manually add in the amount if it is). As with all manual
processes there is room for human error. Claimants receiving IIDB should check that it has been correctlydeducted from their IUCA.
