PIP back pay was created by Nic
Hi Everyone
I was awarded PIP after I requested a mandatory consideration. My initial claim was October 24, in June 25 they wrote to me to say I had been awarded the higher rate for mobility and I would receive that from June 25 and they would calculate any back pay owed to me. My rough calculations is I am owed about £1000.

Since June 25 I have not heard anything else from them in relation to back dated payments.

Would it be fair to start to chase this and write to them? If so, has anyone got a previous email/template they have used? I don’t know how long it would normally take to receive the back pay owed but I’m worried it’s not coming my way!

Any advice/guidance would be gratefully received :) Thank you

Hi Nic

Just ring the DWP and ask or put it in writing if you prefer. I hope that you receive a back payment, but be aware that they may have decided they don't owe you anything, which is why you haven't heard. I hope that's not the case and that they're just tardy in sending it to you. If you can cope with it, it will be quicker to ring to find out what is going on.
