Supporting evidence for PIP Review was created by Bluejay
Hello
I'm in the process of completing the PIP AR1 Review form and as advised by the guide I'm planning on giving as much detailed evidence as I did in my initial claim but I'm not clear on whether or not this means sending the same supporting medical evidence as before. I don't have any new supporting medical evidence about my condition (CFS/ME) although my GP has offered to write a supporting letter for my review. However, the AR1 form says not to send a supporting letter from your GP or any information you've already sent them before. My concern is that if I don't send medical information I've sent previously, it might not get considered as part of the review, and if I do send it, it will somehow antagonise the decision maker. I don't know what to do for the best and any thoughts or advice or other people's experience would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Bluejay
When they say doctors should be sending supporting letters, it is that they shouldn't write a letter saying they support the right of the patient receiving the benefit. If you want to include an up-to-date letter about your medical condition and the doctor's view about your disabilities, send it. After all, it shows you have recent contact with your GP, so you can't be criticised for not having recent contact with services, as some people have. In terms of old evidence - you don't have to send it all again - they do already have it on the system, but plenty of people do. So do what feels right for you. I know people go either way.
