PIP MR Rejected - Unsure if to go to tribunal. was created by Fantastico
Hi folks, so I need some advice on what to do next. Basically I recently had my PIP review and was awarded the same points for the Daily Living component but believe I wasn't given the correct points for the Mobility component. I was awarded 4 points stating I can stand and then move more then 50 metres but no more than 200 metres either aided or unaided, which I felt was a overestimation of my current ability. When I've tried to calculate it, I can walk about 15-20 metres before pain/discomfort starts to set in and I need to stop, rest and sit down. I have rheumatoid arthritis in the knees and ankles which heavily impacts my mobility and I decided to do a mandatory reconsideration appeal for the Mobility component which as failed. I was given the exact same points.
But I'm unsure if I should take it to tribunal. I've been through the process once before and it was a nightmare. Plus I'm concerned that doing so might cause me to lose the Daily Living component of PIP, as I've heard that can happen. I really don't know what to do and can't get any help/advice other than online. I would appreciate some advice for those with more experience with the benefit system than I.
Thank you in advance.

Hi Fantastico
You are correct, if you appeal you may loose what you have already been awarded, we would advise you to seek help from your local Welfare Rights Specialist; you can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies in your area advicelocal.uk , they will be able to take all your circumstances into consideration when giving you advice.
