Change in Health?? was created by John93
Hi, I am currently receiving UC with LCWRA and PIP (higher rate mobility, lower rate care). My PIP is due for a review later this year. I haven't had any reviews for LCWRA since my original one about 2 1/2 years ago. My GP originally booked me off sick due to balance issues as I would just suddenly fall over for no apparent reason. I also have a lot of other health conditions as well. When I was originally awarded PIP and LCWRA I hadn't seen a neurologist as I was on a long waiting list for this. I am now under the care of a neurologist and have had various tests and I am currently awaiting more. The latest tests I have had recently confirmed that I have swallowing difficulties which strangely I didn't know I had (I am awaiting further tests for this as well), and neurogenic changes in my muscles. I am now also under the care of a speech and language therapist for the swallowing difficulties, and have had to make changes in my diet and how I eat. Even though I haven't got a diagnosis yet should I inform UC of the latest test results regarding swallowing difficulties and the changes in my muscles, or do I wait until I have an definitive diagnosis? My neurologist suspects a rare neurodegenerative condition, but further tests are needed.

Hi John93

The DWP always say that people should inform them of any changes - but plenty of people don't until the next review. As it currently would make no difference to what you get for UC - I would wait until you have your firm diagnosis and then you can give them a fuller picture - but the choice is entirely up to you. Many people don't because they don't want any information to trigger an early review.
