Hi,
I’m hoping someone can clarify something for me.
I recently received a letter from the DWP notifying me of the annual increase in my benefit amount. Included in the pack was a booklet stating that savings over £6,000 must be declared.
However, I was previously informed that contribution-based ESA is not means-tested. If that’s the case, why is there a requirement to declare savings? If the benefit isn’t means-tested, what relevance do a person’s savings have?
I would appreciate some clear information on this, as I want to make sure I fully understand the situation.
Many thanks.
