Hi Shellejay
In addition to the advice above, I suggest you check out The Stroke Association. They may may also be able to give some help regarding PIP application and also give some support for you in coping with the recovery aspect of a stroke.

Sorry for the long link. I don’t know how to shorten it but it’s for the UK Stroke Association.

Yes this really does help, I read that it's shouldn't be more than 2 to 3 pages long but if I were to do everything you say especially going over each descriptor it's more likely to be around 14 pages long. How long is too long?

Is a written tribunal statement the same thing as a written submission in response to dwp bundle or are they 2 different things and if so what's the difference?
Thankyou

Hi Shelleljay,
Hmmm I will readily admit that I write MR essays as I opposed to short stories! Obviously don't repeat endlessly. So, eg set out the safety criteria and then refer back to that paragraph. Eg 'as set out in paragraph 4, I can not do this activity safely...'
Also if the same argument relates to two or more descriptors, you could consider them in one combined paragraph. (Labelled with all.)
I tend to use numbered paragraphs. Normally one per topic, but if naturally you would need more paragraphs then that's fine. However head each set. 'Background', 'Assessment Report', 'Descriptors' possibly also 'Law' if you want to set out the reliability criteria ie Reg 4(2A) PIP Regs. 2013, or Reg 7 which is the majority of days Reg. and then sub-headings as appropriate for each descriptor.
As long as you have valid new comments in each para then say it. So write, and then edit widely if you need to. Page numbers and name/NI number and eg MR request or Appeal response etc as appropriate in a footnote.
Get a friend etc to read through and check. They'll soon tell you if it's too long.
Will DWP read it properly? I don't know, but it will set out your case and decent arguments definitely win cases at tribunal.
I hope this helps.

Hi Shelleljay,
Response and Submissions are the same. I write 'Submissions' for the Tribunal. These are detailed arguments as I have outlined in the previous posts. This is always the term that I have used, and I think it originally derived from caselaw where the Judge refers eg to each party's argument which has been submitted to the court/tribunal, hence 'submission'. If you wish you can call your letter 'submissions' - or 'arguments' or use any similar term.
I hope this helps.
