Holidays abroad was created by derlam
Hi,
Since 2022 my wife (she gets care and mobility) and I have taken holidays in Spain in our touring caravan for 3 months each year, it's hard work for me on the drive down and back, but otherwise enjoy our time.
Each year I have informed the DWP as required that we are leaving the UK for a holiday abroad, and given them the relevant information (to be clear we go for 90 days at a time) they normally seem OK with this but ask me to call them when we get home, seems fair enough, and I have complied with the request.
However last year when we returned I called the PIP enquiry number, I spend 40 minutes on the phone only to be disconnected when the agent answered, so I called again and waited 45 minutes for an agent. I explained why I was calling gave all the relevant details, and said we were home.
The agent asked to speak to my wife to answer the security questions, which she was unable to do, so the agent sais you haven't answered the questions correctly and hung up. That was in September last year, I didn't bother to call them back.
My wife has now received a letter from DWP asking "Please confirm you absence abroad dates" I find this a rather ambiguous question.
Does anyone have any advice to how to handle the question?

Hi derlam
It doesn't seem to be clear how long they want you to go back. As you have a record, I would give them the dates from 2022 -2025
